Randy Vogt

Fellow author Fr. Roland Faley calls Preventive Officiating author Randy Vogt "the indefatigable soccer referee" as Randy has officiated over 8,000 games during the past three decades, from pro matches in front of thousands to six-year-olds being cheered on by very enthusiastic parents. Randy has received eight officiating awards in three different countries (USA, USSR, Italy), has been invited to referee tournaments around the world and officiated in a couple of the globe’s great stadiums. Soccer America magazine uses his comments for its Ref Watch series on whether the officials got it right in important decisions of professional games. During the 1990's on the MSG Network, he gave the "Cool Rules Quiz" on the TV show, "Soccer Zone."

In Preventive Officiating, Randy shares his wisdom gleaned from thousands of games and hundreds of clinics.

The author would like to thank the many people who have helped him along the way, especially those from the Eastern New York Youth Soccer Association, Long Island Junior Soccer League, Long Island Futsal League and New York Metro Intercollegiate Soccer Officials Association.
